Good evening,
Liz and I have arrived back at the hostel after arriving at Wilson Airport,
from the Maasai Mara, and then taking the travelers over to Jomo Kenyatta
Airport. We watched them enter the departure building and returned ourselves
to Kikuyu.
Going on safari after spending the days with the people of Kenya is
an amazing contrast. While we live comfortably at the hostel; the camp,
although not
super fancy, is sure nice. The people and the service they deliver along
with the food is extremely high quality. The game drives are always so
thrilling, in fact we saw a leopard within five minutes of leaving the
dirt air strip where we land. We never saw a rhinoceros but saw every other
major animal as well as the more minor ones - think warthog and wildebeast.
A definite highlight for some was a 2.5 hour walk up the mountain behind
the camp with 4 Maasai warriors watching over us. In fact, the telephoned
report from yesterday was made from the top of the ridge. It was advertised
as easy but I did have a heart rate of 144 at one point in time.

Liz and I will continue to update you a couple of times over the
next week. We plan to take Peter and Josephine to see some sights tomorrow.
On Sunday,
we will go to church and I am responsible for making rounds at the hospital.
We are planning tea with an American professor and his wife at the Presbyterian
University nearby in the afternoon.
We had several periods of prayer and rejoicing over the past 2 days,
celebrating the life changing experience that working here in Kenya is.
Please look forward
to hearing the stories of the returned travelers on Sunday.
We, as always, thank you for your prayers.
God Bless,
Doug
Thank God for sacrificing His only Son so that we
would not have to face the consequences of our sin.
Pray for the same servant’s heart that Jesus demonstrated
in his life and death.
Most of the team members begin their trip
home today.
Pray for traveling mercies.
