Sunday, April 26th
Dear Friends,
We are relaxing together tonight. We praise God for the new friends
we have made and their devotion to the Lord. The PCEA Maili Kumi
was 'handed over' today at the church service. It was not dedicated
as the moderator of the Presbytery had another commitment today.
The service was joyous with 3 distinct but wonderful messages delivered
by Robert, Jan and Tim.
A correction about yesterday. We visited the Menangi Crater, not
trader. It is a hugh volcanic crater near the church. Several of
us walked about 1.5 miles up the last part of the climb. |

The picture shows the sign post
at
the top. It indicates that we are
1429 miles closer to Tokyo than
New York City. |
Tomorrow the group builds a school
at Karai about 30 minutes from here
at the edge of Maasai land. Olivia,
and Ellen will join me at the hospital
for the day to full fill an academic
responsibility.
God Bless you all,
Doug
Pictures and update from Ellen:
The church dedication was awesome. I
fell in love with a little 5 year old
girl named Moline and wanna bring her
back with me!!

Everyone wants to use the computer
so not much time to email. Tomorrow,
me
and Livvy are in the hospital (shadowing
Dr. Kerr), Tuesday, we'll play with
the kids at the Kerai orphanage and
then
Wednesday morning, we leave for the safari!!
Devotion
for Sunday
Our second Sunday will be in Nakuru at the dedication
and celebration of the church we will help build, before returning
to Kikuyu. It will be a long day filled with unfamiliar people,
worship, sights, sounds and food. But in the midst of all that
is new and different is what is foundational and familiar to all
of us, Kenyan and American alike. We are united by our confession
of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of the world and our desire
to follow him faithfully.
Pray for this day of worship and celebration-
both in Kenya and at FPC. Rev. Hemant Tandi
will be preaching.
Pray specifically
for Steve M. today.
